Follow these simple steps to check if your phone supports eSIM.
iPhone: Go to Settings > Cellular (or Mobile Data) > Add eSIM. If you see “Add eSIM” or “Add Cellular Plan,” your device is compatible.
Android (Samsung): Go to Settings > Connections > SIM card manager. If you see “Add eSIM,” your device supports it.
Alternatively you can also try the following:
- On your phone, dial *#06#.
- Look for a number labeled EID.
- If you see an EID, your phone supports eSIM. If no EID appears, the device does not support eSIM
You can install your eSIM either before your flight or after arriving in Canada.
If installing before your flight:
- Install the eSIM while connected to Wi-Fi.
- Keep the CanadianSIM line turned OFF or disable mobile data until you land in Canada.
- Once you arrive, turn the line ON to start using your service.
If installing after arriving in Canada:
- Connect to Wi-Fi.
- Scan your QR code and follow the setup instructions.

Yes — if your phone already has an active eSIM from another provider, we strongly recommend temporarily turning it OFF before installing your CanadianSIM eSIM.
